About BLR Brewing Co.
BLR Brewing Co. is a craft brewery and restaurant with seven outlets across Bengaluru (count as of October 2026): Whitefield, Kanakapura Road, Electronic City, Marathahalli, Bellandur, HSR Layout and Yelahanka. We brew our own beer, cook a full menu to match it, and build our spaces around trees, water and open air.
Food and beer carry equal weight here. Roughly half of our guests come mainly for the food, which is why the menu runs from bar snacks to mains and desserts, so someone who does not drink can still build a full meal.
Where we started
Our first outlet, Electronic City, opened in 2019, when it was roughly the 30th brewpub in Bangalore. The idea was to sit close to the city's tech corridors, where teams go out for lunches, client dinners and celebrations. Today our outlets sit on those corridors and in the neighbourhoods around them, from Whitefield and the Outer Ring Road to Kanakapura Road and Yelahanka.
Our beer
Our beer is brewed under brewmaster Umang Nair, who trained at the Siebel Institute of Technology. He sets the recipes and supervises brewing, so a Belgian Wheat poured in HSR Layout tastes like one poured in Whitefield. We use imported malts, hops and yeast for the core range, and add regional Indian ingredients for seasonal and collaboration beers. The core range is six styles, Belgian Wheat, Hefeweizen, India Pale Ale, Dunkelweizen, Stout and Blonde, plus our signature Hazy IPA. Beer flights are available at every outlet. See Menu and beers.
Our food
A central kitchen and central bakery make the primary sauces, masalas and marinades for every outlet, so a signature dish tastes the same wherever you order it. The menu is the same everywhere, with one exception: Whitefield has a dedicated Japanese kitchen for ramen, sushi, tempura and Japanese appetisers. The menu is global comfort food with a strong Indian core: North Indian, South Indian, coastal and continental. We keep dishes moderately spicy or milder, because very hot food hides the beer. Menu items carry allergen tags for gluten, nuts and lactose, vegan options are marked, and Jain versions are made on request.
Recognition
BLR Brewing Co. properties have been photographed for features in Condé Nast Traveller, Vogue and Architectural Digest. The Whitefield flagship is the subject of a seven-minute architectural walkthrough by Aathro, made with the project architect: watch on YouTube. BLR Brewing Co. is a unit of BLR Restaurants Private Limited, which also operates the brand Beanlore.
