Frequently asked questions
Age and ID
What is the minimum age to drink at BLR Brewing Co.?
The legal drinking age in Karnataka is 21, and licensed venues enforce 21.
Do I need ID?
Yes. Carry an original government photo ID, such as Aadhaar, a passport, a driving licence or a voter ID. Licensed venues check ID at entry, including for private bookings.
Bookings and tickets
Do I need to book?
Walk-ins are usually seated without a long wait, but every outlet fills on Friday evenings, so book ahead for a Friday. Call the outlet to book (contact details).
How do I book for a group or a private event?
Send your date, outlet, guest count and occasion through the group and event enquiry form. We reply with menu tiers, inclusions and slot confirmation.
What about ticketed events at Hamilton?
Public, ticketed events at Hamilton, the event venue at our Whitefield flagship, are sold through BookMyShow, District and Skillbox. The ticket price depends on the event.
Dry days
Are you open on dry days?
Yes, on national and festival dry days. On a dry day the sale of alcohol stops, but food service carries on. Our kitchens run the full menu, the weekday lunch buffet at Marathahalli and Bellandur goes ahead, group and private hosting continues, and our Liquid Journey mocktails and other zero-alcohol drinks keep pouring. Beer and cocktails are off for the day.
Which days are dry days in Bangalore?
Three nationwide dry days fall on the same dates every year: Republic Day (26 January), Independence Day (15 August) and Gandhi Jayanti (2 October). Karnataka adds festival dry days that follow the state public holiday calendar. In 2026 these included Good Friday (3 April) and Ganesh Chaturthi (14 September), and national calendars also listed Krishna Janmashtami (4 September). See our full dry days guide.
What about election dry days?
Election dry days are declared by the district administration close to each poll, and the order for that date decides what can stay open. In 2023 the order shut liquor-serving restaurants fully, food included. On an election dry day we follow the district order, so call your outlet before you travel.
Children and families
Are children allowed?
Families with children are welcome for daytime dining, and Kanakapura Road in particular, with its tree-shaded garden and koi pond, is a family favourite on weekend afternoons.
